Gaea Lumi has craftsmanship and sustainability at its heart. Ayakeme Udokang started Gaea Lumi in 2019 after her hobby of crocheting, sustainability, and ethics. It all began after she tweeted a picture of a crochet hat that juxtaposed a traditional Nigerian hat silhouette and balaclava combination.
Not only is Gaea Lumi a symbol of Nigerian Pop-Culture, but Akayeme is also a well respected designer in the sustainable fashion industry in Nigeria. She is dedicated to eco-friendly practices that are enforced throughout her supply chain, including empowering local artisans!
