House of DOT
Dorothy Ughenu is a Nigerian designer and the founder of House of DOT. Since launching the brand in 2011, Dorothy has grown DOT from its coveted ‘SJP’ box bag to a range of products including belts, small leather goods and shoes. Inspired by nature, shapes, colors, people, and Africa, the brand’s goal is to make swoon-worthy products that are a way of life as well as works of art. Dorothy attended University of Lagos Nigeria and graduated with a degree in Pharmacy.
She feels DOT is a God-given vision, because even though she loved to dress up, she never envisioned a career in fashion. She is a World Bank Scholar, and a recipient of the Cherie Blair Foundation Business Mentoring Program. She enrolled in Screenwriting at Ebony life Creative Academy Lagos Nigeria in 2021 to marry her love for fashion and film. Her short film “The Next Best Thing” was one of the six chosen shorts produced by the Academy.
